Changes and Ideas.

HEY Y'ALL!!

At first we thought Becky would keep this whole blog thing going, but as it seems, it's been quite quiet! So, we decided that all of us will start writing, more or less. But I suppose I'll be the one to keep these translations going.

There's been a LOT going on after the last post, so let's get to it!
Firstly, we released our "Closer Than Ever" -single a couple months back with a music video, we were on a audience vote for Finnish "Rock Championship" thingy, in which we didn't succeed.
We took some new promo-pictures which we released alongside the new single.
Aaaand we started a nice little Street-Team!

As you can see, none of us are photoshopped!

After releasing "Closer Than Ever", we've been on stage quite a lot, and the new single had a really nice feedback, so thanks for liking us! (and our music)

This Street-Team is a new thing for all of us. None of us has been on one before, so we're quite inexperienced about that, but we do like a good challenge and we got some awesome new people who have experience about it to help and run it. We're really hyped about this and we're hoping we would find more enthusiastic people to get us even further! 'Cause that would rock :)

We tried to think that what's important in a band, or more likely, what we wait from other bands. We came to the conclusion that we want more music! So, we decided that we'll take a gig-break for a month or so to develop some new songs and maybe even record an acoustic EP while at it.

Oh! If you're living outside of Finland, and you'd be interested in sharing our music, contact us by mail or in facebook! We'll be sending you some flyers and stickers so you can share them around!

That's all for this time!

Sincerely,
Sauli.

Introducing Colory!

Hey Everyone! This is Sauli, roughly translating becky's post in english and adding witty comments!
This is a blog for a six-person pop/rock band called COLORY.
We formed in late 2010 and we're still storming, with increased rate!
We've seen many bars in Helsinki, been in competitions and achieved as great as second place in Finland's Emergenza-Festival, approximately 100 bands participated, so I think we're doing something right....
At the moment we have three releases, (Set the Wheels In Motion, Overheated, Walking in Circles) and we were recording our fourth release last weekend at EastSound! But that's enough about that...

The picture up there demonstrates greatly the people who play in this little orchestra.
Sauli, (That's me. And I have a great urge to write "IS AWESOME" right here.) I play the bass and I'm a huge nerd, also kinda nice.
Eero, the one oh, so adult and eldest of us (owns a rather great beard and Becky always tells him not to shave it), plays the guitar.
Matias, our tanned boywonder from sweden (not really, he just looks like he could be from sweden. And we let him know about that, a lot.) punishes the drums and looks good. Admit it, he ain't bad for the eye. (Becky's words, not mine)
Then there's Juuso, our guitarrist who mostly plays the lead and more complex stuff, composer of most of our songs and one could say that he's the father-figure in the band.
He's so going to love that description.
And Aki. Easiest way to describe him is that Aki is being really Aki. We took him in the band to bring laughter and general amusement to our little practice sessions, and he's been doing that greatly. Also, we wanted to have three guitarrists ('cause that's mad cool) and now he's here to stay.
Last but not least, Becky (A.k.a Rebekka) the lead singer and the youngest member of the band. She writes the lyrics and composes them for the songs, she is also giving some womanly perspectives ind the band (and making sandwiches.).

Then some precious history.. Eero and Juuso has known each other from the pre-historic era (the sandbox times) and in fall 2010 they wanted to put together a band.
From the depths of internet they found Matias and then the guys went to Matias' training facility (wtf google?) and figured that everything was going smoothly.
Then they started the search for the bassist, and they found me, also from the internets. I was pretty much the only one who sent an application so they picked me (YAY)! We didn't have a singer yet and I just happened to know Becky from before, so I asked her if she'd interested and when she heard the songs, she was sold.
So, we had a little audition for her and the guys thought she was amazing, (quoting Eero "She wasn't bad"). Then I told the guys she's a bit young, they we're a bit hesitant at first, but she was far more superior than anyone else who had been in auditions to be ignored, so they made the right decision and took her in the band!
Aki, who had been a substitute for Eero and me when we couldn't play at some gigs, was a rather natural choice to make, we felt he belonged to the band already, so we asked him to join, thus making a complete band more complete!
And that's pretty much about it.. For now!

Have an awesome day!
-Sauli
